This One’s For You – Jeremiah 29:11

This One’s For You – Jeremiah 29:11

If you’re reading this and you’re in the situation where everything goes wrong, then this one’s for you.

I know your soul is tired, that you never feel that you’re enough. Like nothing is making sense. Sometimes you feel like giving up, and giving until you’re empty and there’s no one to fill you up. There’s no one to reach out to you, to pour their love into your tired hands, to lift your aching spirit.

Sometimes you feel like you care too much. Like you chase the wrong things. Like you let people take advantage of you because you’re not strong enough to turn away. You feel like you don’t know when to stop and when to walk away or when to let life happen as it’s meant to—out of your control.

Sometimes you feel like you’re trying so hard to do everything right, to make sense of what happens, to be a good person, but ultimately, you end up broken and tired. And then your faith starts to shake. And then, suddenly, you can’t remember who you are anymore, or what people want from you.

Please, don’t live like that.

Don’t spend your days agonizing over what you can’t control. Refrain from lying awake at night wondering about the ‘could-haves,’ ‘should-haves.’

Don’t ever feel so defeated, so purposeless, so lost.

Feel God’s presence, because honestly, He’s there. His warmth is shining down on you, that His light is guiding your path. Each step you take is guided by Him. He’s with you, so have no fear.

I know sometimes you get so caught up in the ways of the world. You count your own strength as everything and forget that you’re imperfect and you need HimYou get so focused on your selfishness, on what you think you deserve, on what you don’t have yet, that you forget all the blessings He’s given you. You forget that He’s been in your life, that He has never left your side, that He is our almighty God, and nothing will ever change that.

Sometimes you try so hard to have everything fall according to your plan, that you forget He has, and always had, a better one for you.

Trust that when He takes something away from you, it only means He’s going to replace it with a better one. Trust that no matter where you go, people will appreciate you and will be in awe of the gifts that you have.

So, surrender everything to Him. Let go of all the things you cannot change, of all the fear and indecision, of all the anxiety and confusion and frustration and bitterness you’ve carried for so long. Drop the weight. Walk away.

Hand Him all of your burdens and trust that He is your powerful God, who will never let you fight the battles of this life alone.

Let His will be done. Let Him carve your path, your story, in whatever direction He sees fit. Stop relying on your own strength. Stop wishing for something else, something better, while losing sight of who you’ve become as His child.

Let Him do His work, let Him write your story and construct His plan. And instead of resisting, surrender to Him.

Because He knows, far better, where you’re headed in this world. He knows the life He wants for you. He knows the love you will one day find, the wealth of affection you will receive in return from being someone who cares too much, the happiness you will discover when you stop worrying about what everyone else thinks and celebrate the simple fact that you were made in His image. And He loves you, no matter what.

Instead of trying to manipulate the world, instead of trying to understand what’s happening and why, instead of stressing over all the things that you cannot fix, cannot save, cannot make sense of, let His will be done.

Deep down from my heart, I wish you can live with the pain until your heart heals. I wish your heart will always be connected to the One who made it.

Remember this verse, His promise:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
